Oooh, a new challenge. A recent graduates mother just called me and asked to do her son's senior pictures [ late, yes I know ] and his grad party is this Saturday. So I have to go take his pictures tonight and have at least one all printed up and ready to go for his party. Not too hard, except with everything else thats going on, holy cow! I'm getting used to being busy but I think within a week or two I'm going to be bored again...hopefully not, but guess we'll see...

Well, well, well.

So the wedding went really great! Well, minus the mini panic attack I had in the car on the way over. Thankfully my mom came to assist me and kept me cool. She's amazing :) Here are two photographs from the wedding: 

more will be put up on my website soon, though. So exciting! These images haven't really been touched up to have a wow-factor at all, but I was excited and wanted to share a couple with you.

I've got my second wedding this Saturday which will be really cool. Its a nighttime wedding, so some nice sunset shots should come out of this one. And then after they are having fireworks so that'll be fun, too.

So last Friday I was sitting around waiting for that grumpy old man to come in and get his wife's picture, I was feeling really awful but I waited because he said he would be here on Friday if he wasnt on Thursday. Well he wasn't on Thursday OR Friday. He calls me up on Monday and says, "I was just down at your photo place and you weren't there." I was like "I was on lunch." and he was giving me crap. I don't think he understands that I can't just sit here alllll day all the time. Its really not that kind of a job, and the man refuses to make an appointment which I asked him to do a couple times. I was in the middle of explaining things and he said "Okay bye." that was that. Geez. I know I won't be getting any good word of mouth from this guy but at this point I don't really care!! I know, I know TERRIBLE way to be, its dumb of me, but its hard not to get a little fed up with this guy.

Oh something else I found out...I had made up fliers and taken them to my old school for the to-be senior class. Well the advisor NEVER HANDED THEM OUT. I just found this out, like 2 months later. Here I was wondering why no one had called from there. Damn. So after the fact everyone tells me that he is irresponsible and I should have taken it to the other advisor...ehhh too late now :(. But I did find out that regardless of that situation I am going to be shooting at least 3 of the seniors from there. Which for my first year of doing this, I'm fine with. I also have at least 3 other kids from different schools, too. Its a start.

Oh boy, my first wedding is tomorrow. Everyone cross their fingers for me!! I'm so excited and scared. I just want everything to work out, which I know is asking too much but I hope that whatever does go wrong is minor.

Got my hair cut yesterday hoping to look better for the weekend. Didn't really go as planned. My hair is quite short and I'm not sure I like it. Oh well, it'll grow back. I think I'm ready to grow it back out again already. I just can't stick with one thing for too long, is that so bad? The ladies at the JC Penny salon seem to think so.

The old man is supposed to be in today to pick up the photograph of his wife. I hope he's happy with it. I also hope he comes in kinda early so I might be able to leave early on this gorgeous day. Its going to be 90, hopefully it won't be too humid, then I'll be hap-hap-happy!

Well I was gonna start posting a "Five for Friday" category last week but I couldn't get on the internet that day so I'm going to do it now because it pertained to Fathers Day.

FIVE FOR [ LAST ] FRIDAY
Five things I love about my dad...
* He's super smart
* He's got fun hobbies [ corvettes and paintball ]
* He helps me out when I need him to, and when I don't sometimes, too
* He has faith in me
* He's provided a really good life for me and my family

So I had that shoot this weekend right? Yeah. That didnt go all that great. It was inside this restaurant, but the restaurant was blocked off into tiny rooms and it was really dark and there were something like 15 children in them. Woah. Thats a lot to deal with all at once. Then for some reason I couldn't get my flash to do what I wanted it to. So, I'm not impressed and I was rushed and it seemed like no one really wanted this whole picture thing to be done so it really didn't go too well at all. Manageable I think, but not great. I'm just glad that I got this whole flash ordeal out of the way before doing the wedding this weekend. I dont get it though, I played with my flash, thought I had it all figured out...ehh I'm a loser.

On a more exciting note, I think I am going to be photographing a house which they will be appearing in the magazine "This Old House"...at least I think thats what its called. So that could be great. Also last Thursday I took some of the Corvette shots from the speedway to a BBQ the club was having and sold $60 bucks worth, hopefully when the rest of the people see them they'll want some, too.

Well my mom is swinging by to bring me some lunch while I wait and wait and wait for this one guy to come in and put a deposit down for this weekends wedding. Have a great Monday!

I'm leaving early...it got nicer out and I have errands to run, some pertaining to work so I dont feel bad about leaving early :D  Anyone have any suggestions on anniversary presents for my parents?? Its their 28th so nothin special but a long time....they are going to be gone this weekend with the corvette club and I want to give one of the other corvette couples a gift to give them Fri night...which means I have to have something picked out by tomorrow nite...ugh, so thats one of my errands but if I dont find anything, I hope to check this thing and see a few?? Ooh I got another walk-in. This time its just a reprint sort of thing, but real sweet. He was an old man, 73 he said, and he wants to have an enlargement made from his wife's senior portrait. Very cute. I hope someday that I have a man like that. Old, but still so in love. I'm gettin teary...I'm so DAMNED EMOTIONAL for no good reason. Ehh.

Here I sit at my computer at work, feelin sick and hungry, waiting for a customer to show up to pick up some prints. I think after she leaves I'm going to, too.

I'm going to go to my moms and have something to eat, go to MV and make some copies of some price sheets and whatnot, then go home and veg out.

Got a new kitty on Saturday, thinking of naming her Kaya. Not sure yet, though. I wanted to do a cool Shakespeare character name but I haven't come up with one yet. Suggestions?? Jagger doesn't seem to mind her except when she tries to attack his tail.

Had both a horrible and a fun weekend...yeah it was weird. The fun stuff included getting the cat, chilling on the back deck of a bar with Stace a bit Sat nite, going cruising with my parents and the corvette club yesterday. I was looking really unsexy because I showed up at the racetrack to take pictures of them and I was feeling sick then, too, so I figured I'd be there and leave after like 20 minutes, barely seen by anyone, but I was convinced to stay with them for the day. So I felt ugly all day but with the top of the car off, speeding down the road among 'friends' [ hey, they may be old but they are a good time :) ] it didn't seem to matter that much anymore.

Alright well, I should probably get off this thing since its about time for a photo pick up...

Oh my goodness...a woman just walked into my studio and BAM I'm doing her wedding...on the 25th. Thats REALLY soon. I'm scared!! And REALLY EXCITED too!! Now I won't have Heather here for my first wedding. I know that I'll do fine though, nothing tricky about this wedding at all. Just taking images during the ceremony and the normal formals afterward pretty much. Woo Hoo, I'm gonna have wedding images for my website :-D

Well I finally put an advertisement in the local paper. I know, I know, I'm a slacker. But I did it and I feel better now. People can get off my ass about it now!!

Jagger has been acting funny so we pretty much decided he needs a kitten friend. Seeing how he has never been alone in his life and now without Libby he's just been acting lonely, so hopefully thats what he needs.

I think I'm taking an early lunch I'm STARVING plus I need to get to the bank and to the insurance company to pay my bill.

I got a deposit in the mail today for a huge family portrait session. There are going to be 29 people in the overall portrait and then they are breaking down into their smaller, immediate families. I'm really scared...posing and making 29 people look great is going to be a hard task.

Rereading the previous posts first statement sounds a little illegal or something a doctor might have done. Anyway, the delivery of the prints of the little girl went great...just wanted to clear that up!

Well I'm sitting at my parents house on my day off doing some laundry. I do a couple loads here and there and my mom is happy that I come visit her :)  2 good things at once. My day has gone really, really well today. Good wake up, Jason had the morning off and he made some yummy breakfast, chilled around the apartment for awhile, then I came here, my mom told me that Bob Evans has crepes now!!! So I'm going to do my best to convince Jason that we need to go there for dinner so I can eat a strawberry banana crepe. OMG how much do I love crepes?? They are so high up on my list. However, I have only had them in Italy so I may be disappointed here, who knows? And I had a *chocolate* one over there, it was ammmmmmazing! I got off track...but anyway nothing much else has happened because I've been captured by the news coverage of the crazy man in California.

As soon as the next load gets put in I have to run around town and hang up some promo cards for my business. Its sooooo damn cute, I used a photo of the little girl and I did the whole make it all sepia except for a few things in it. I think it looks pretty good, I'll post it tomorrow when I get to the studio. Until then...Have an excellent, sweaty Tuesday! :D

The delivery went GREAT of the little girl...I sold another 8 prints from it. She's incredibly lucky she's getting my "Tulip Festival Special", she's saving  A LOT of money on this. So far this one day shooting of ten minutes brought me in over 200 dollars. Plus I'm using one of the images for advertising so thats really cool, too. I'm so scared I'm gonna mess up the whole tax part of this business thing. At least my first time paying will only be on a few orders so it shouldn't be too complicated I hope.

Last nights episode of the 4400 was pretty good! The only thing that sucked was my massive headache that I had from the time I woke up til the time I finally fell asleep. [ It was a painful day ] Jason and I watched Are We There Yet? Wow that movie was dumb. Maybe I just wasnt in the mood for something like that, I dunno. I guess we'll probably be watching Boogeyman tonight. The previews for that looked really stupid but I guess we'll see.

Well I really have nothing valuable to say so I'm going to get back to work--

So I found a show to watch during the summer. Its The 4400. Its soooo good. We just borrowed season one off our neighbor and watched it the other day. Its on Sundays at 9 on USA. Season 2 starts this weekend, I'm so excited :).

Its such a yucky day and thats just how I feel. Crampy, crappy, yucky, you know. Other than that things are good. Finishing up a couple orders and then I get to deliver the little girl shots :)  I can't wait for her mom to see them, I think they turned out great, I'll post another one later. But for now, I need to accomplish a few things. Adios :-*

Holy crap its JUNE!!

I can't believe the year is close to half over already! Ehh. I am happy about the warmth though. Its 80 degrees outside today, but alas, I am stuck indoors til 5 or so. Been keeping pretty busy, I haven't been in to work since Friday so I feel like there is so much to do, so I will get back to that soon. Just a bit of an update and I'll be gone.

Hmm lets see...over the weekend I met up with some high school friends that I don't see too often. But I drank more than I expected to and I don't really remember talking to them all too much. I had a night out by myself that night because Jason went to a bachelor party. However he met me out at the bar around 1 or so and we were both a little tanked so things didn't go over too well. What would YOU think if your boy spouted "Ew you shoulda seen the strippers, they were ugly so we left." Yeah that kinda pissed me off. Oh well. So the next day I was a big POS and ruined our plans with constant trips to the bathroom and having to go home early and not see a movie. This didn't go over too well. Sunday night Stacey and Kevin came over for dinner and a fire. That was really nice.

Well I don't feel like typing anymore so its back to Photoshop I go...catch ya later :)
